In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (Pink October), People’s Insurance PLC proudly organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Session at our Head Office, in collaboration with Nawaloka Hospital. The initiative was designed to educate and empower our employees on the importance of early detection, self-examination, and proactive health management.
Encouraging Early Detection and Preventive Care
The program featured an awareness session led by medical professionals from Nawaloka Hospital, who shared valuable insights on the causes, symptoms, and prevention methods related to breast cancer. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the importance of regular self-checks and early screening vital steps that can significantly improve recovery outcomes.
To further emphasize preventive care, screening sessions were provided to staff members, ensuring they had access to professional evaluation and advice. Additionally, three randomly selected participants over the age of 40 were offered complimentary mammogram screenings, reinforcing the message that regular check-ups save lives.
A Meaningful Initiative Towards a Healthier Community
This collaborative effort highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to the well-being of its employees and the broader community. By raising awareness about one of the most common cancers affecting women, People’s Insurance aims to inspire continuous education and early action against breast cancer.
Spreading Hope, Awareness, and Care
People’s Insurance extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated medical team from Nawaloka Hospital for their expertise and partnership, and to all employees who actively participated in this meaningful program.
As we mark Pink October, we encourage everyone regardless of age or gender to prioritize regular health screenings, support awareness efforts, and stand in solidarity with those affected by breast cancer.
Together, let’s continue to spread hope, awareness, and care because every step matters in creating a healthier, more resilient nation.
