In celebration of World Environment Day celebrated on 5th June, People’s Insurance PLC conducted a series of special tree-planting initiatives at selected schools across Sri Lanka, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability and community development.

The initiative was organized with the aim of encouraging environmental awareness among students while promoting the importance of protecting and preserving nature. Through these activities, People’s Insurance PLC continues to support the growth of greener spaces and inspire young minds to become responsible stewards of the environment.

The tree-planting programmes were successfully carried out at the following schools around the island:

  1. Hangamuwa Prathamika Vidyalaya – Ibbagamuwa, Kurunegala
  2. R/Kuruwita Central College – Kuruwita, Rathnapura
  3. MR/Narandeniya National School – Kamburupitiya, Matara
  4. K/Hadapangoda Maha Vidyalaya – Padukka
  5. Kingswood College – Kandy

By bringing together students and communities, this initiative reflects the importance of collective action in creating a greener and more sustainable future. These efforts not only contribute to environmental conservation but also help nurture a culture of responsibility and care for nature among the younger generation.
